Pontoon Winters

Issue: October 2005

Preparing your boat for winter involves much more than simply winterizing, covering and putting your boat away until next spring. The winter season is a great time to get numerous "extras" done to your boat.

Pulling a pontoon boat out of the water allows the owner to perform several seasonal maintenance features. Cleaning the pontoons will increase speed and fuel effeciency. With the price of fuel, who couldn't use this benefit? It's also a great time to get the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and lower unit maintenance performed.

With many older pontoons, OBBD can help owners choose new furniture, carpeting, or add additional accessories. For any tears or repairs for boat covers, OBBC can help customes get these repairs done in a timely manner. For any customer needing winter storage space, please email David or Patricia early as space is limited and fills quickly. OBBD has several outdoor storage options. Please email for individual pricing. If you are a first time boat owner, or would like to own a boat without a huge investment, consider purchasing a 'fixer uper' older pontoon and updating it a little at a time.
